We will provide an airport shuttle bus to and from the Palermo airport on the first and last days of the course.

There will be garden produce for students to harvest for their meals (weather permitting). Weekday lunches will be eaten (and often prepared) together in the kitchen at the school. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Students will be responsible for their own breakfast, dinners, and weekend meals.

The School
The property is located amidst the Tasca d'Almerita vineyards, with many walking tours through the countryside. At the cooking school there is a large ornamental garden for relaxing, reading, and studying. There is a library with a large selection of cookbooks, novels, and travel books for students use, as well as WIFI and work space.

Students will be living in the beautiful hillside town of Valledolmo, about 25 minutes from the school. The town of Valledolmo is a traditional, simple and idyllic Sicilian village, with laundry hanging on the lines and narrow streets to explore. Valledolmo is built around a historic Norman palace, with a population of about 4,500 people—tomato farmers, cheese makers and Sicilian folk. It is nestled into a little valley, and overlooks a stunning view of the countryside, with wheat fields, vineyards and farms. There are cathedrals to visit, shops, bars, cafes and a post office. As Valledolmo is a remote, peaceful little village. For students who are eager to explore cities and surrounding areas of Sicily, a shuttle will be available each Friday evening and Sunday evening (to and from the nearby train station with access to Palermo, Cefalu, Agrigento, and Catania).

Students may choose between the following options for accommodation:

Sicilian Living
Join a Sicilian Family. Immerse yourself fully into the Sicilian culture and way of life by living with a Sicilian family in central Valledolmo. Each student will have their own bedroom and bathroom and share a living space, laundry facility, and kitchen with the host family. Students will be provided a simple breakfast each morning and will share dinner with the family each evening
after classes. All weekend meals will also be provided by the host family. To participate in a homestay, students must be curious about Sicilian life and responsible for keeping their space clean within their hosts' home.
Valledolmo Nunnery
Students will live in a functioning convent in the heart of Valledolmo. Each student will have his or her own bedroom with a private bathroom. Wifi is available in the common areas and a common kitchen will be at their disposal for mealtimes. Students will be provided with kitchen essentials upon arrival but eventually are in charge of groceries for themselves. Laundry services will be available weekly and all linens and towels are provided. Transportation to and from the nunnery to the school is provided each morning and afternoon.
