Fabrizia Lanza and Anna Tasca Lanza

Anna Tasca Lanza, Fabrizia’s mother, started the school in 1989, breathing new life into Case Vecchie, the traditional 19th century villa set amid the family’s Tasca d’Almerita vineyards. Though Fabrizia left Sicily at 18 to pursue a career in art history and museum curation, she returned in 2006 to cook and tour with her mother.

 

Anna passed away in 2010, but Fabrizia is devoted to making sure her spirit and principles live on through our celebration of Sicilian cuisine and culture at Case Vecchie. Fabrizia is passionate about documenting and preserving the unique cuisine of the island, and about insuring that time-honoured recipes and techniques are not forgotten as our culinary lineage continues to evolve.
