The Anna Tasca Lanza Cooking School in the heart of Sicily boasts a permaculture garden, stunning setting, and hands-on cooking lessons from Chef Fabrizia Lanza who will expose you not only to the vibrant culinary traditions of this fascinating island, but the mosaics, salt pans, and ancient Greek archaeological sites that pepper the voluptuous landscape. A bike ride around the family estate, a visit to a world-renowned pastry shop, and the stories of Sicilian historian Mary Taylor Simeti, all await you.

In the course of your seven–day stay in Sicily, you will be exposed to a unique and remote slice of Sicilian life (in addition to two days in vibrant and colorful Palermo, touristic and economic capital of Sicily.) Located just outside the village of Vallelunga, the Anna Tasca Lanza Cooking School is just an hour and a half southeast of Palermo. This amazing place has much to offer for any visitor, but as students you will be exposed, in depth, to a crossroad of culture that will illuminate the basic human practices of storytelling, nourishment, and nature.

We invite you to join us for a special yoga and cooking retreat in Sicily.
This 6-day tranquil retreat, in the heart of the Sicilian countryside, will include yoga lessons with Sonja Appel, a highly certified instructor and founder of Sushumna Yoga in Goa, and cooking lessons by Chef Fabrizia Lanza, owner of the Anna Tasca Lanza Cooking School.

These incredible retreats include group yoga practice for all levels, hands-on cooking lessons, healthy vegetarian–focused meals made with products from the family estate, time to relax, a hike to the winery, trip to the sea, short day trips to local artisanal food producers, and a special tour of the vegetable gardens and orchards on the estate.
Guests will be hosted in comfortable accommodations at the historic noble house of Case Vecchie on the Regaleali estate in central Sicily.

Food & Culture is dedicated to those that want a full immersion in Sicilian cooking, through lessons certainly, but also through the exploration of culinary festivities so typical of the region. Together with Fabrizia, guests will discover the secrets, both culinary and cultural, of the delicacies prepared for regional holidays beginning with San Giuseppe. Alongside the lessons, students will have the opportunity to visit the altars of San Giuseppe in the towns and villages neighbouring Case Vecchie, as well as viewing videos on the subject and participating in a tasting of Tasca d’Almerita wines.

Arrival is set for Monday afternoon, lessons will take place every day of the week. Departure is scheduled Sunday after breakfast. 6 nights, 11 meals included.
